Minutes of Meeting on 4th November 2014

Meetings held monthly on the first Tuesday evening of the month at 19:30 in the Kitchen of the village hall

Reports also sent to all LCC members via E-mail Still no outstanding problems in Lumphanan, but report any strange vehicles in area and ensure property is kept secure.

Lumphanan football park drainages still ongoing. Ongoing

Website – KB and GU spoke with Ian and now have administrator login access which allows them full access to all areas of the website.

KB and GB will be the focal point for updating and amending the website as required.

Container Peel Ring –Planning application currently being reviewed through planning department.

School Road repair and poor parking issues around School During previous meeting concerns were raising about the poor parking on roads around the School at drop off and pick-up times.

GB has raise matter within Council and is planning a visit with Ralph Singleton to view issue.

Question about hanging Stone being moved to Lumphanan as part of the village heritage – GB has raise matter within Aberdeenshire council.

Dead trees around lovers lane – (JS) to chase Sandy Grant person again

Damage to bridge next to old post office – (JS) noticed damage to the side of the bridge and has contacted Aberdeenshire Council about the matter.

Update on Pre-Scholl Hut – Since last update meetings have been held. Hut currently closed but may open in the New Year.

Remembrance Sunday – HW to lay wreath on behalf of LCC.

Christmas Service – Service to take place on Tuesday 23rd Dec in the Church. Mince pies and mulled wine.

Planning Applications or Building Warrant Applications

AOB:  

(RW) - Highlighted concerns about narrowness of bridge on “lovers lane” and potential to fall into the burn – (RW, KB, HW, GU) to look into possibility of adding barrier / guard rail.

(GB) – Discussed new refuse and recycling bins along with new collection dates

(GB) – Discussed availability of food bank.

(GU) – Confirmed that the interior of the Hall would not be painted before the Pantomime, it would be done either end of 2014 or beginning of 2015.

(GU) Discussion concerns about on occasions poor communication from Council – (GB)advised that the matter of communication between Aberdeenshire council and village community councils had been raised. If there are any specific examples of poor communication from LCC these should be given to GB who will forward to the relevant people looking into improvements.

(JS) Confirmed that 75 kg of spring bulbs had been received from Grampian growers – Letter of thanks to be sent on behalf of LCC.
